This policy explains what cookies and similar storage this website uses, in line with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the UK GDPR. Read it together with our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies and local storage?
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device. Local storage is a similar feature built into your browser that lets a website save small pieces of information. We use both terms in this policy for anything the website saves on your device.
2. What we use on this website
Strictly necessary items do not need your consent because the site cannot work properly without them. We use analytics cookies from Microsoft Clarity only if you press Accept on the cookie banner. We do not use advertising cookies.
| Cookie / Storage name | Provider | Purpose | Type | Expiry |
|---|---|---|---|---|
jos-buns-cookie-consent | This website (local storage) | Remembers whether you pressed Accept or Decline, and when, so we do not ask you again. | Strictly necessary | Stays until you clear your browser storage |
__cf_bm (only if set) | Cloudflare | Helps protect the website from bots and abuse. It is not used for tracking. | Strictly necessary | 30 minutes |
_clck, _clsk, CLID, MUID (only if you press Accept) | Microsoft Clarity | Measure how visitors use the website (pages viewed, clicks, scrolling) so we can improve it. | Analytics (needs your consent) | Up to 1 year |
Only necessary session and consent items are stored until you press Accept. If you press Decline, or do not make a choice, no analytics cookies are stored.
3. Analytics and marketing
We use Microsoft Clarity to see how visitors use this website (for example which pages are viewed and where people click), so we can improve it. It only loads if you press Accept. If you press Decline, it is not loaded. You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer. Any other analytics, marketing or embedded content added in future will also only load if you press Accept, and we will list it in the table above.
4. How to clear or block cookies
You can control cookies and stored data in your browser settings. Clearing your data will also remove your Accept or Decline choice, so the banner will appear again on your next visit.
- Chrome: Settings, Privacy and security, Delete browsing data, then choose Cookies and other site data.
- Safari: Settings, Privacy, Manage Website Data, then remove this site.
- Firefox: Settings, Privacy and Security, Cookies and Site Data, then Manage Data.
- Edge: Settings, Cookies and site permissions, Manage and delete cookies and site data.
You can also set your browser to block cookies. Blocking strictly necessary items may stop parts of the website working. For more guidance, see the ICO's advice on cookies.
